Diana Porsche: Final rehearsal for London a success!
Diana Porsche celebrates two top results in the international three-star tour at Austria's largest indoor equestrian sport event, the Amadeus Horse Indoors in Salzburg. She rode her Dahoud to second place twice in front of her home crowd.
Diana Porsche and her nine-year-old Hanoverian gelding Dahoud (Desiderio x Weltmeyer) laid the foundations for a successful weekend on Thursday (5 December) when the pair danced to 69.609% in the Grand Prix. The Salzburg duo were only beaten by double U25 European Champion Raphael Netz from Germany: ‘I was very satisfied. It was important to me that I gave him a lot of security and confidence, as Dahoud does not yet have much experience in large halls. Unfortunately, he had to muck out once in the piaffe transition, which was very expensive. But you can't practise that, it just happens when you work with horses!’ summarised Diana Porsche afterwards.
In the Grand Prix Special, the current third-placed rider in the World Cup Western European League was even able to break the 70% mark and finished in second place again with Dahoud: ‘He became more relaxed from minute to minute in the Grand Prix Special, snorted a lot and felt very good, especially in canter!’
Next week, the dream team will be travelling to the British peninsula, where the last World Cup stage before Christmas is scheduled in London as part of the London International Horse Show. The 28-year-old rider from Salzburg has one thing in particular in mind for the traditional tournament, which has now existed for over 115 years: To enjoy the show! ‘It was always my childhood dream to be able to ride in London one day, so I really want to try and be in the moment. Of course I want to show good rounds and hope for World Cup points, but Dahoud doesn't have much experience yet and I want to remain realistic. We are good, but we can't ride at the front of the field yet,’ said Porsche.
