Diana Porsche: Sensational high score in London!
Diana Porsche and Dahoud achieved new personal bests in both the World Cup Grand Prix and the Freestyle at the International London Horse Show, placing a sensational eighth and tenth in an Olympic field.
In the Grand Prix on Thursday, the Salzburg duo already managed a strong round with a score of 71.891 %. And this despite the fact that the arena, like an entire London neighbourhood, was without power just a short time before their ride. The delay was not noticeable to Porsche and Dahoud: a personal best and eighth place behind double world champion Charlotte Fry and Olympic bronze medallist Becky Moody. In the musical freestyle, in which the decisive World Cup points were awarded, the pair danced to hits by British pop singer Adele and went one better: 76.025 % meant tenth place among the world's elite:
‘I still can't believe it, it's like a dream. I had an unbelievably great feeling during the ride in the Grand Prix. The musical freestyle is more difficult for Dahoud because we have much less experience there, but he did it so well, I couldn't be happier. We'll certainly be able to take more risks in 1-2 years, or maybe even sooner. Dahoud's development shows that we're doing a lot of things right and that he has so much more confidence. The best thing about it: there is still so much room for improvement!’ said the delighted Salzburg dressage rider.
With 43 points from five World Cup stages, Diana Porsche continues to defend third place in the current Western European League rankings.
